Preparing a consignment

It is your responsibility to ensure the pallet is packaged in the correct manner. If your goods are not suitable for transit, then we will advise you on the best way to rectify this. Please be aware if your pallet needs re-processing there is a £25 fee.

As much as we would like to help you un-package and install whatever is on your pallet, unfortunately we are restricted to dropping your consignment in a safe place at ground level.

We offer next day and economy delivery in most locations between the hours of 8am – 9pm, Monday to Friday.

Our network has the best coverage in the UK – we aim to offer am timed deliveries where possible. In the event that you are unable to select the service you require, then please contact our expert customer service team who will work with you to find a solution.

Booking a consignment

Improved processes at Amazon have allowed Walkers and all other Palletways depots exclusive access to their booking function. Give your dedicated customer service agent a call, and they will liaise with Amazon on your behalf.

When booking your consignments online, be sure to let us know of any special delivery instructions. This will eliminate any delivery challenges such as poor access, which would result in a re-delivery charge.

Goods in transit

Our dedicated customer service team will notify you immediately if your consignment is refused at a given delivery point. We will then agree with yourselves the next steps.

We understand that many areas in inner cities are restricted access only… but don’t worry, we will still deliver! However, Walkers ask for your consent by giving us ‘parking permission’. By granting this you agree to full responsibility for any fines incurred during the process.

Consignment intelligence inclusive of ETA’s and POD’s is accessible from the online portal. If you are not familiar with this platform, then our expert customer service team are on hand to help.

We will aim to be as accommodating as possible, however as you can imagine our drivers have multiple delivery drops in a day – resulting in our maximum wait time at any delivery point being 15 minutes.

All goods are tracked and traceable. In the unlikely event that your consignment gets lost in transit, we will conduct a ‘national search’ to locate your and get your consignment back on track.

Insurance

We process near to 25,000 pallets per day and whilst it is rare, damages do occur. Simply make our customer service team aware and we will promptly resolve any issues.

Yes. As standard, we offer insurance of £1300 per tonne. However, if your freight needs greater coverage, don’t hesitate to get in touch for an increased value insurance package bespoke to your needs.

This is a financial penalty incurred by the customer in the event that your consignment was undelivered due to unforeseen circumstances. Please note that Walkers Transport are not liable for this cost as per the RHA T&C’s.
